LAIR Scenography

LAIR is a first major solo exhibition by Icelandic/Israeli artist Sruli Recht, presenting 63 works across 11 categories within a 1,000-square-meter gallery at Sea World Culture and Arts Center. Structured by the artist’s narrative framework, the scenographic design organizes a 266-meter exhibition sequence through its folding within the given envelope. Variations in scale, material, and light are deployed not as effects but as instruments, aligning space and work into a coherent spatial narrative. The overall composition unfolds as a Chinese handscroll: a journey through an estranged, dark landscape, articulated through the logic of Jiangnan garden scenography.
