Queen Of The Night premiered in 2013 at the Diamond Horseshoe within the Paramount Hotel in New York City, reimagining Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte as a multisensory immersive theatre production with a dining experience. Blending opera, circus arts, choreography, and elaborate scenography, the show dissolved the boundary between stage and audience, guiding guests through layered environments before culminating in a banquet-style central performance infused with spectacle and ritual.
The Beijing production was conceived as both a continuation and a reworking of the New York original. While retaining its immersive framework and core narrative, it introduced substantial design transformations, including reconfigured spatial sequencing, revised scenographic systems, and localized cultural inflections, resulting in a renewed theatrical environment shaped by a different urban and audience context. Unfortunately, the production was canceled prior to its public opening in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
