Zhangjiang Center Waterfront

Project type

Urban design

Status

2016

Location

Shanghai

Using "Water Narrative" as a guiding thread, the design reconfigures the lifecycle of three distinct waterfronts (the north and south banks of the Chuanyang River, Zhihui River, and Future Park). This is not merely a landscape enhancement; it is the reconstruction of Zhangjiang’s long-absent publicness. By introducing a "soft" waterfront to the "hardcore" tech city, the Chuanyang River is transformed from a rigid boundary into a social pact between the people and the city.
