Zhu Residence in Yongkang

Zhu Residence is a family living quarter plus hospitality function within their privately owned manufacturing plant. Almost detached from its chaotic and high-density sub-urban context, the residence is planed as introspective and inheriting from traditional Chinese garden living ideals. Walls play important roles in the design to define public and private. While most ground floor living rooms are fully open to the surrounding landscape, the 2nd floor bedrooms are always connected with a walled roof terrace each.
